What's inside

We ferment whole-leaf Sencha tea for fourteen days, then press whole fruit straight into the bottle — never concentrate, never flavoring. The fizz is alive. The sugar is gone.

Every bottle ships within four days of brewing, refrigerated, so the cultures stay active until you open it. No pasteurisation, no shelf-stable shortcuts.

One small batch, one Bangsar kitchen, one stubborn rule: if it doesn't taste like a real fruit ate the tea, we don't ship it.

How it's made

Four steps.Two weeks.Zero shortcuts.

Day 01

Steepthe leaf.

Whole-leaf Sencha green tea brewed in filtered water with raw cane sugar. Strained into a fermentation vessel.

Day 02–14

Wildferment.

A living SCOBY culture eats almost all the sugar over fourteen days. We taste-check every other day to catch the right tartness.

Day 15

Pressthe fruit.

Cold-pressed whole fruit goes straight into each bottle — lime, strawberry, hibiscus — never reduction, never syrup.

Day 16–20

Shipcold.

Bottled, capped, and on the next refrigerated van. Cultures stay alive in your fridge for up to six weeks.

Two flavors.One small batch.

We brew exactly 800 bottles a week, split between Green Garden and Berry Bloom. When the batch runs out, that's the week.

Made for actual lives

Brewed for the way you actually live.

Not the wellness-influencer-on-a-yacht kind of way. The Friday-evening-after-a-meeting, kueh-from-the-coffeeshop, dinner-with-friends kind of way. We brew it small, ship it cold, and trust you'll know when to crack one open.

Loved by KL

Fridges, offices, and weekend hosts.

First non-alcoholic thing I'll actually drink at dinner. The Green Garden tastes like a pandan kueh somehow ended up in a fizzy tea, and I mean that as the highest compliment.

We swapped out office soda for a Komboocha twelve-pack and the entire dev team noticed they were less tired by 3pm. Berry Bloom disappears first every week.

I host wine nights and I now keep two bottles of this in the door — for guests who don't drink, or want a palate break. They look like real bottles, not seltzer cans pretending.

Things people usually ask.

Is this actually low-sugar?
Yes. The two-week ferment converts roughly 90% of the original sugar into organic acids and CO2. Each bottle ends up at 4–6g of residual sugar — less than half of most "low sugar" sodas, and the rest is from the whole fruit itself.
How long does an unopened bottle last?
Six weeks in your fridge from the brew date stamped on the cap. The cultures stay alive the whole time, so the flavor evolves slightly — a fresh bottle is brighter, a four-week-old bottle is rounder.
Why don't you ship outside Klang Valley?
We refuse to pasteurise to extend shelf life, which means every bottle has to stay cold from our kitchen to your fridge. The supply chain to do that internationally without compromising the brew doesn't exist yet at our batch size.
Where can I drink it in person?
Currently stocked at: VCR (all branches), Tommy Le Baker, Breadshop Bangsar, and the TTDI Sunday market. Email hello@komboocha.my if you'd like to stock us.
Is there alcohol in it?
Trace amounts (under 0.5% ABV), which is unavoidable in unpasteurised live kombucha. Classified as non-alcoholic under Malaysian law.
What about the bottle?
Returnable glass. Drop empties at any stockist or include them with your next subscription delivery — we wash and reuse them. There's a RM1 deposit baked into the first bottle of a new subscription.
